About Us
Dolwen Farm is our 9 acre working smallholding set in Llanwenog, Ceredigion, West Wales.
We purchased the property and moved from our small holding in Derbyshire in May 2022 for a quieter more self sustaining life style.
We moved on to the smallholding with our Sheep, Goats, Pony, Chickens, Ducks, our Dog Dora and 3 Cats. Since moving our flock and land continues to grow with lots more horses added as well as an ever increasing number of sheep. We have also added 2 Berkshire pigs that we breed from and have just purchased our first 4 Belted Gallloway cows. Our hope is to be as self sustaining as possible so we have a vegetable patch, greenhouse and polytunnel where we are growing lots of fresh produce as well as raising our own meat. We are normally stocked with Pork and Lamb from roasting joints to burgers and sausages all from livestock reared here on the farm.
We are first generation farmers and everything is a learning curve for us. Theres no mistaking the life we have chose to live is hard but also so rewarding. There are ups and downs, highs and lows but we just roll with the punches and feel truly blessed to be able to do what we love. We believe in traditional farming and a more traditional way of life. We use as many local, independent suppliers/shops as possible to put the money back in to the local economy. Aswell as sourcing as many products Made In The UK as possible. If you would like to follow our journey do give us a like on Facebook where we share with you all the highs and lows of our wonderful life here in West Wales.
